Trip Overview

The Kathmandu Cultural Heritage Expedition expands over three massive days where travelers will unravel the rich cultural beauty of Nepal’s ancient kingdoms. The expedition offers you to explore the iconic landmarks of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur where you delve into the rich history and heritage of the ancient sites where every street, corner and street whispers tales of those eras.

Our expedition begins in Kathmandu which is also called the City of Temples, where we wander through the colorful streets of Thamel. Thamel is well known as a tourist hub where culture meets the modern lifestyle. You will witness the vibrant energy and soak in the lively atmosphere which defines Nepal’s capital city. With the unique fusion of old world charm and modern appeal, Ason Bazaar will engage you with everything from the fragrant spice vendors and Durbar Square with the wood carvings.

The journey continues as we venture into the medieval Durbar of Bhaktapur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site well known for its preserved architecture and cultural significance. The Bhaktapur Durbar Square feels like stepping back in time, as ancient temples and palaces unfold before your eyes.

The expedition offers moments of reflection and spiritual contemplation as we walk through the banks of the Bagmati River at Pashupatinath, Kora in Boudhanath Stupa followed by climbing up to Swayambhunath Stupa. These sacred places offer you the opportunity to connect with Nepal’s spiritual heritage and witness the unique blend of Hindu and Buddhist rituals and traditions.
