Today we will wake up early in the morning so that we can see the sunrise at the sarangkot. We drive to Sarangkot by a private tourist vehicle, which will take us 45 minutes and then we will hike for 25 minutes until we reach the viewpoint of Sarangkot. You can capture the mesmerizing sunrise over the snow-capped peaks such as Annapurna Range, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre, as well as the Pokhara City and Phewa Lake. The golden rays of the sun hitting the white snow of the mountains are a view that makes Sarangkot famous. Later, we return to the hotel and have breakfast. After breakfast, we head for a sightseeing tour around Pokhara City.
Bindhyabasini Temple:
The first site we will explore is Bindhyabasini Temple, which is dedicated to the goddess Bhagwati and located at the centre of the old bazaar. The goddess Bhagawati represents Shakti, which also means power. We can offer our prayers and also see many worshippers offering their prayers.
Davis Falls:
Next, we head towards Davis Falls, which is also called Patale Chhango. It is a natural wonder and one of the famous tourist sites located in Pokhara. Davis Falls is formed from the water of the Phewa Lake that flows down over the rocks, forming a beautiful waterfall. You can capture the powerful force of the water and the beautiful surroundings around Davis Falls.
Gupteshwor Cave:
From Davis Falls, we head to Gupteshwor Cave, as the entrance of this cave is near Davis Falls. The cave is almost 3 km long and has a large spaced room as well as passages you have to crawl to pass through. The cave is a famous Hindu site, as a Shiva lingam is preserved inside the cave.
Barahi Temple:
From here, we move to Phewa Lake, the second-largest lake in Nepal. It is situated at an elevation of 800 meters above sea level. Phewa Lake is famous among tourists as they can sail in the large lake. Barahi Temple is located at the centre of Phewa Lake, which represents the female force Shakti. You can capture the reflection of the large mountains, Mt. Machhapuchhre and Annapurna, creating a beautiful picture of the lake. You can also see thick forests on the southern side of the lake.
Seti River Gorge:
After visiting Phewa Lake, we head to the Seti River Gorge, formed from the Seti Gandaki River. You can see the strong currents of the river and the deep gorge from the K.I. Singh Bridge at Bagar, Mahendrapool, and the Prithivi Highway Bridge near the bus park.
Tibetan refugee camp:
Our last destination today is the Tibetan refugee camp situated behind the Gupteshwor cave. The site is famous for manufacturing Nepali woollen carpets and other Nepali handicrafts. You can also buy some souvenirs as a memento of this expedition.
