  2. Tea Houses and Local Lodges (During the Trek): In the remote mountainous regions along the Everest Panorama Trek route, you'll stay at tea houses or local lodges. These lodgings are basic but provide the necessary amenities for trekkers. The rooms typically have a usual bed with a usual mattress and a pillow.

  3. Facilities in Tea Houses and Local Lodges:

  • Electricity: Only a few tea houses and lodges in remote areas have electricity. In many places, lighting is provided by lanterns or candles. It's essential to carry a headlamp or a torch for better visibility during the evenings.
  • Nourished Hygienic Food: Tea houses and lodges offer meals such as dal bhat (rice and lentil soup), noodles, momo (dumplings), and various local dishes. Redrose Travel Company ensures that the food provided is nourishing and hygienic.

FAQ

When can I do this trek?

The two best trekkers’s favourite seasons to embark on this trek are autumn (September to November) and spring (March to June). Both seasons come with their own strong and weak points, and the best will vary depending on your preferences.

Autumn offers you ideal trekking temperatures, stable weather, and clear skies, whereas it also comes with crowded trails and potential challenges in securing flight tickets because it is the festive season in Nepal. Spring meanwhile, boasts warm temperatures, blooming wildflowers, clear skies, and comparatively fewer crowds. But the season also holds the potential for snow showers at higher elevations and even rain.

How difficult is the trek?

The Everest Panorama Trek presents you with a moderate level of difficulty, meaning even if you have no previous trekking experience, you can conquer this trek. With the highest elevation of 3860 metres, which is considered to have altitude sickness risks, it is essential to follow a few healthy practices like taking enough rest and drinking enough water throughout the trek.

How much altitude will we be gaining during the trek?

The Everest Panorama Trek reaches a maximum altitude of 3860 metres at Tengboche. With the increase in altitude, the air gets thinner; hence, acclimatisation days will help a lot in these situations. It allows our body to adjust to the altitude and minimise the risk of altitude-related illness while exploring the surroundings and enjoying breathtaking scenes. To avoid altitude sickness, it is crucial to listen to our bodies, stay hydrated, and also take enough rest throughout the trek.

Are there electricity, ATMs, and WiFi facilities available?

The facilities decrease as we move ourselves to higher regions. While lower regions like Lukla and Namche Bazaar offer you access to electricity, ATM services, and WiFi connectivity, things might not be the same as we ascend to higher altitudes. Most of the guest houses at higher altitudes rely on solar energy for electricity, which is very limited and may cost you a nominal amount to get access. We encourage you to embrace this opportunity to disconnect from digital distractions and immerse yourself fully in the natural beauty of the Himalayas.

What does a typical day on the trek look like?

Each day on our trek generally starts early with a scenic mountain view and a hearty breakfast. You will wake up early to witness a mesmerising sunrise view over the Himalayas, followed by 5 to 7 hours of hiking. We have added rest days to explore the village and immerse ourselves in local culture, but mainly to adjust to the altitude change. In the evening, we will enjoy our dinners at a communal dinner hall, where we will share stories with fellow trekkers and learn about the culture and lifestyle of the locals.
