This trek is famous because you can see the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest, as well as visit the Gokyo Valley, where you can capture the beauty of multiple glacial lakes like Thonak Cho Lake, Gyazumpa Cho Lake, and Gokyo Cho Lake.

The trek goes through Lukla, Namche bazaar, and Gokyo, allowing the trekkers to understand and dive into the rich culture of the Sherpa community. Trekkers can experience the unique and friendly hospitality of the community, along with delicious Himalayan cuisine local to the Everest Region. Trekkers will be travelling along the Dudh Koshi River to reach Gokyo Lake, located to the west of the Everest base camp. Located at an altitude of 4700 to 5000 metres, Gokyo lakes are considered sacred by both Hindus and Buddhists. Continuing the journey, trekkers reach Everest Base Camp, the nearest point to the Everest without any mountaineering gear, where they can view the breathtaking views of the Everest along with several other peaks, including Lhotse (8,516 m), Cho Oyu (8,201 m), and Makalu (8463 m).

The trek starts from Lukla after a scenic 35-minute flight or a 5 to 6 hour drive from the capital city, whichever you prefer. From the small village of Lukla, we move through the normal Everest base camp route, passing through Phakding and Namche bazaar. After an acclimatisation day at Namche bazaar, we climb through a beautiful Rhododendron forest and Yak Kharkas, with the views of Khumbi La and Taboche visible throughout the day, and reach Phortse Thanga. Trekkers move towards the valley of Gokyo, passing through the PhortseThanga and Machherma to reach the Gokyo village located against the serene Gokyo lake.

A mesmerising moment of the journey is reaching Gokyo Ri, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks, including the mountain giant Mt. Everest. From Gokyo, trekkers will move to Thangna and Dzongla via the challenging Cho La Pass, reuniting with the main Everest trail, reaching Lobuche from Dzongla, followed by the Everest base camp, capturing priceless memories before the world’s tallest peak.
